Jerry Lewis, * 16 March 1926, † 20 August 2017, in Newark, New Jersey, USA, was a famous American comedian, actor, singer, film producer, screenwriter and director. He was known for his slapstick comedy and his partnership with Dean Martin as part of the comedy duo Martin & Lewis. His best-known films include "The Nutty Professor" (1963), "The Shopkeeper" (1964), "Cinderfella" (1960) and "The Geisha Boy" (1958). Jerry Lewis was a role model and inspiration for many comedians and actors such as Jim Carrey, Eddie Murphy and Steve Martin.
