Walpurgis Night
The Walpurgis Night is named after the holy Walburga. She was a Benedictine abbess from England (710-779). Walburga is the catholic patron saint of plague, and her Walpurgis oil is said to have healing powers. She was also the patron saint of pregnant women and protected them from starvation.
